Hi, I'm Sten Ekberg, a doctor of chiropractic who specialize in getting people better quickly by addressing the source of the problem.

If you have had an accident or if you have been physically damaged (cuts, fractures, bleeding etc.) the damage needs to be repaired. Then you need to go to the emergency room. Our health care system excels at that type of emergency intervention.

But in virtually all other cases, where you have a chronic problem or a pain that just gradually developed,(chronic pain, arthritis, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, cancer etc) the problem is one of functional imbalance.

The only way to change a functional imbalance is to first figure out what caused it, and stop doing that, and secondly to direct the therapy specifically towards reversing the damage that has been done to the body's functional systems.

What we also need to keep in mind is that all function in the body is regulated in some way by the brain and the central nervous system. Therefore if you have a functional imbalance in your body, there is always an imbalance at the level of the brain as well.

Chiropractors affect the brain. The more specifically the doctor can observe the brain function or the indirect results of brain function, the more he or she will be able to help you get better.

Dr. Ekberg is a board certified Doctor of Chiropractic, serving the Alpharetta community, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life University. He is certified in Body Restoration Technique (BRT), and he was a board eligible Chiropractic Neurologist after only 2 years of post graduate studies.

Dr. Sten Ekberg has been freeing people from pain in the clinic in Alpharetta, GA. As a Chiropractor with experience, Dr. Ekberg is committed to promoting optimal health and well being of patients. Dr. Ekberg believes that the body is an eco-system with a built-in tendency for homeostasis and health. An eco-system cannot be forced into "compliance" which explains why drugs are never a long-term solution. The body will heal itself if the interference is removed and the deficiency is corrected.

Dr. Ekberg is a former NCAA, div 1 champion and 1992 Olympic decathlete in track and field who has always been interested in finding better ways to do things. After his athletic career he has devoted the last 15 years to finding out how to get closer to the potential of the body and mind. He draws on his vast experience in health and performance to help others enhance their health.

Dr. Ekberg uses a "whole person approach". This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function.
