I had exhausted medical and physical therapy routes and still had issues of pain and mobility. My doctor said okay to my trying acupuncture and I was lucky to have someone refer me to Teri. She is very knowledgeable about various types of treatments, as well as being kind, caring, and thoughtful about her work. I don't react to things like the majority of people, so it has been a bit of trial and error to find what works for me.

While I was disappointed that acupuncture wasn't miraculous (at least for me), I have continued to improve with Teri's help and for that I'm very grateful. Teri also does NAET treatments. My daughter had multiple food allergies and went through a series of NAET treatments many years ago with a different practitioner. The process seemed strange and yet it made a significant difference in the quality of her life. If Teri is as intelligent and thoughtful about NAET as she is about acupuncture, it's something worth trying for allergy problems.

Teri is as good as practitioners get and is doing the kind of healing work the world needs. Teri is a good listener, incredibly thorough, super knowledgeable, kind, and gracious. I've seen many practitioners through the years for various holistic and alternative treatments, and Teri truly stands out. I started seeing her 6+ months ago for NAET treatments in her South Loop office, after finding her on the NAET website.

You couldn't ask me to explain well how NAET works, but it is an incredible holistic approach to eliminating allergies and sensitivities (from food to environmental, chemical to emotional) from your system using an acupressure or acupuncture technique. I've had one NAET practitioner before, but in a different city years ago and I was forced to find another. NAET has helped me overcome many health challenges (allergies, eczema, asthma, fatigue), stemming from mainly food and environmental sensitivities in the past, but I came to Teri desperate to treat a new bout of eczema taking my legs over with a vengeance, after a health crisis earlier in the year.

Every appointment, she'll ask how you're doing, test for what allergies to eliminate and see what takes priority, and treatment by treatment, my severe eczema has completely cleared up. Along with the treatments, Teri uncovered a number of other 'emotional' triggers in my life that are so spot-on, and she has helped my well-being beyond the eczema.

I have worked through a lot with her in the past months, and I am so grateful to have found her.

Teri takes her time with each appointment, and she has never pushed treatments on me when not necessary. But I've been keeping up with bi-weekly visits simply because I know I'm that much stronger because of them. Her knowledge and very high NAET certification sets her apart from other acupuncturists, and even other NAET practitioners, and I couldn't recommend her more as an all-around practitioner.

If you're skeptical or still unsure, I can't emphasize enough that chances are - she can give you insight or connect the dots for you about your health state in ways many doctors or other practitioners can't.

This review is long overdue. A year ago, I was experiencing some extreme pain in my neck and it resulted a few days later in Bells Palsy. I knew what it was when it happened so the next morning the first call I made was to my chiropractor. The next call was to Dr. Calandra, who I had met at an event about a year prior. If I was going to do acupuncture, I knew she was the one I wanted to go to.

I'm not a huge fan of western medicine and had already done enough research on Bells to know what the treatment route was. Dr. Calandra got me in immediately and helped me make the decision to go to the doctor to get it checked out and promptly scheduled me to come back in for regular treatments. Over the course of the next few months, I saw her regularly progressing from three times a week to twice per month.

It was her dedication to using acupuncture, herbs and NAET that I feel is one of the main contributing factors to the recovery of my facial paralysis. Today, you would never guess that I experienced any type of paralysis. She is incredibly skillful, professional, warm and comforting. She truly takes all things into account and listens to create the best solution for the multiple layers of challenges you might be facing.

I have many physical challenges and they were all addressed in our sessions as appropriate.

Dr. Calandra is by far the best acupuncturist I have seen and I the first person I recommend when anyone asks about acupuncture.

I started seeing Teri 2 years ago for knee pain. At that point it would hurt to walk even a mile, even though I had completed physical therapy three times. Within months of regular treatments from Teri, I was walking with much less pain, and today, I feel barely a twinge, if even t hat. She's also been able to help me with other issues, such as stress and sleeplessness. Teri is a wonderful acupuncturist - listens compassionately, her treatments are extremely effective and I can't recommend her more highly.

Teri is the best practitioner I've had yet. I first heard of NAET through family friends and was rather skeptical about the practice, but I have not felt this physically and emotionally healthy since I can remember. The first NAET/acupuncture treatment I had with Teri was completely painless and stress-free, and I walked away feeling surprisingly energized, rested and centered.

Teri is down-to-earth, transparent and welcomes all questions, challenges and concerns.

She's constantly adjusting her schedule meet with all patients, and is an honest and trustworthy practitioner. She is comfortable staggering or suspending treatments if they truly aren't needed and doesn't try to push things solely for business profit. I also value that she makes time in her full schedule to educate herself on the latest medicinal breakthroughs through conferences, re-certification, new certifications, etc.

She takes the time to educate patients on her treatment processes and the intricacies of their health conditions. She equips patients to knowledgeably advocate for their own bodies, health and well being.
