These beautiful courses consistently, yet gently, remind me that there is always so much more to learn when it comes to herbal medicine. I've been working with and growing herbs my whole life including four years working on an herb farm. I have a master's degree in Chinese medicine and have spent nine years in clinical practice and in herbal medicine teaching roles.
I understand how hard it is to navigate the deluge of herbal information out there, and find a resource you can trust. With over thirty years under my belt growing herbs, making medicine, and teaching about plants, I've come up with a program that is chock-full of expert guidance for cultivating medicinal herbs and addressing common ailments at home with your very own tinctures, syrups, poultices and salves.

The Medicine Making course was a truly magical experience that made me feel at one with the Earth around me! Like slipping one's face just under the surface of the water to look around, and discovering a whole world brimming with life and wonder. Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine gave me a very strong foundation and instilled in me a love for all things Herbalism.

I've also realized that this will probably be a lifelong practice, as there is SO much to know about plants and their medicine. And I'm perfectly happy with that! Thank you so much, CSOHM.

Loved the Medicine Making Course, which included among many other topics "Herbal Livelihoods" and "Herbal Roots: History, Traditions & Accessibility". Perfect for an intermediate herbalist to go deeper.

I was most impressed with how passionate the Chestnut team is about herbalism and making each student feel appreciated and heard and how their approach to herbal medicine is modern and inclusive. The material is so thorough that will use for years to come. It is one of my go-to resources when I work with plants. The cost of the course is well worth it.

I absolutely loved the Herbal Immersion program! And am so proud to be an alumni. The love and respect for the plants and our planet shown by the Chestnut folks is just so beautiful. And the knowledge and resources shared is worth the cost. This has been such a positive and uplifting experience for me. I feel blessed, and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this program.

The course is beautiful and meticulous. The staff, wise and helpful. My only regret is not enrolling sooner and trusting the internal nudges I kept getting to go on ahead with it. Thank you to Juliet and her team. I was not expecting the quality of my life to be impacted so graciously.

The Chestnut School course on foraging and wildcrafting is totally worth the course fee. The course will open up a whole new world for you. You will learn how to identify plants, how to use them in your cooking and in medicine, how safe they are, where to find them or how to grow them, plus you will have resources for where to purchase them if necessary.

The teaching videos are engaging and informative. The manual is beautiful with its many colored photos. When and if you need assistance, the instructors are kind and helpful. If you want to learn about herbal medicine, this school is an excellent choice.

I wish I could give Chestnut School and all the staff even more stars. You most certainly will learn a lot about herbs but what I equally appreciated was how obvious it was that the production of this course, in a professional and beautiful way, was important to its creators and that they aimed to give extraordinary value for our dollars spent. The staff really cared that we would learn about the subject matter and achieve something precious by the end. The manual was gorgeous, the videos were well done, the staff support was awesome, the FB forum was positive and perfect. I'm definitely taking another class!

I started with the herbal medicine making course that the Chestnut School offers and I felt connected to a classroom even though we all had virtual seats. The video instruction is clear and fun to follow. The printed materials are thorough in instruction and generous in content. The online support group is very active and Juliet is responsive to questions.

I recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn about practical herbal use at home and can't get to a live and local teacher. If you ARE in their area and can attend live, I say get to class!

I'm currently enrolled in the Herbal Immersion program, and I can't say enough good things about it. The instructors are experts in herbalism, botany, etc., as well as being very approachable and helpful. The course is everything I had hoped for and more. I did a lot of research on the various distance courses in herbology, before choosing Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and decided to go with them--best investment I've made in myself and education in a long time. The course is visually stunning, extensive, fun, and very, very well organized. I wanted a well rounded, all inclusive program, and this program is all that and more.
