Excellent Treatment from an Caring and Expert Practitioner!
I met Dr. McDonald almost 10 years ago. Mel was recommended to me by my general practitioner following an accident to assist in my overall treatment and recovery. Mel's acupuncture treatments, as well as his nutritional recommendations, were literally lifesavers in my overall recovery. I have continued to see Mel for various reasons during the last decade, ranging from physical injuries to headaches to stress-related issues. Mel has successfully assisted and guided me thru various challenges as well as continuing to advice me on nutrition. Dr. McDonald is an excellent doctor that truly cares about his patients and their overall well-being. I highly recommend him!

Dr. McDonald is the best doctor I know. He is the sweetest, most patient and attentive person, who truly cares so much about his patients. I have struggled with an immune deficiency and am currently facing consequences due to the over prescribing of antibiotics from my childhood. Dr. McDonald's treatments have helped me drastically. I have more energy, my immune system is stronger, and my GI problems have improved immensely. I highly recommend him for any of your concerns.

Customer Testimonials

I highly recommend Dr. McDonald. He is kind, attentive, and very knowledgable. He has helped me immensely with thyroid issues, stress, and even muscle pain. I cannot praise this practice enough.

My experience with Dr. McDonald has been wonderful. He has a very caring and kind demeanor. I never feel rushed during the appointments and I know that I am well taken care of. He has helped me tremendously with his excellent skills in not only Acupuncture, but natural medicine needs as well. What a wonderful outcome for me to be able to control some of my medical issues and come off of prescription drugs by switching to healthier alternative methods.
I highly recommend Dr. McDonald.

I went to Dr. McDonald for the "stress treatment" that he offers. I was a bit hesitant at first because i have horrible anxiety and i HATE needles. I am so glad i tried it because the treatment was very successful and I didn't even feel the needles! i definitely recommend trying it out!

Dr. McDonald was referred to me by a friend. I was looking for some help for my son's anxiety and ADHD symptoms. My son has struggled with anxiety for several years now. We have tried prescription drugs and they just seem to make him very agitated. Since he has started seeing Dr. McDonald for acupuncture treatments he has had much less anxiety. Dr. McDonald also has him on some natural supplements to help treat the underlying cause of the anxiety and ADHD symptoms.
I have also had acupuncture treatments from Dr. McDonald; as you see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I have not been this relaxed in years!! Very thankful that we have found Dr. McDonald!!

Initial visits generally last from 30 to 90 minutes. Your acupuncturist will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and provide you with your unique treatment plan. During your first exam, your acupuncturist will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns. You may be asked a wide range of questions about your symptoms, eating, exercise, sleep habits, emotional states and anything that may offer insight into your health. Your practitioner will also employ diagnostic tools that are unique to acupuncture and TCM such as tongue and pulse diagnosis.

Some common questions about acupuncture are answered below. Call us if you have other questions or if you are interested in improving your life through acupuncture treatment. Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive medical system to diagnose and help millions of people get well and stay healthy. An acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints on the body. This activates the body's Qi and promotes natural healing by enhancing recuperative power, immunity and physical and emotional health.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine in the world. Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available anywhere. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, your overall health is determined by the quality of the Qi (energy) flow through the natural pathways of your body (meridians). Acupuncture uses a variety of techniques, including placing very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body, to stimulate and improve your Qi flow.

The goal of this dynamic and integrated health care system is to activate the natural, self-healing abilities of the body. It can also strengthen and support the body to prevent future illness and disease. Einstein showed us that everything is made of, and radiates energy. This subtle form of energy supports, shapes and enlivens our physical body and activates our lives. For the past 5,000 years, practitioners of acupuncture have called this intelligent energy Qi (pronounced "chee"). Numerous cultures have described this energy and called it by many names: prana, baraka, pneuma, spirit, wakan, material force, vital force, orgone, ether and ruach.
