I couldn't say enough good things about this place even if I would try. Here's my story. I was I was a victim of an accident. A friend of mine suggested manual medicine. The moment I came in Dr. Sedei and Dr. Wagner both sat me down and in detail had me describe what had happened. After understanding all my concerns and issues they immediately took me in for X-rays(unlike any other chiropractor in that would start adjusting and massaging you). Judging from the X-ray pictures they figured out that I have more than just soft tissue damage. I had three injured discs in my back. They immediately referred me to dr. Brett, a neurologist, from there I went to the MRI. Now with the clear picture they started work my back. When I came to manual medicine I was barely sleeping, barely walking borderline depressed, my energy level felt like it was in the negatives. After 8 months of treatment all my soft tissue damage has been nearly restored, I'm back on my feet. I am now going in for lower back surgery and hopefully that would fix the rest of my pain. I understand that I will never be the same but these guys tried as hard as they can to get me back up. I came here with no hope and walked out with a bunch of new friends. Starting with the message therapist to the friendly staff and of course the Doctors. I can't thank you guys enough.

Customer Testimonials

I really enjoyed my massages and visits at Manuel medicine. The staff and chiropractors all do an amazing job. I would recommend to anyone!

Highly recommend Dr. Wagner and his team. I had a special case of an injury, Dr. Wager did extensive research to have a specialized treatment for my case.

Dr. Sedei was awesome! He asked questions to determine the cause of my pain and not only did he adjust my back, he also gave me great tips for at home and work to help remedy my problem! The staff was great and super friendly! Definitely recommend him to everyone!

I met with Dr. Sedei for a hamstring injury. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend going to Dr. Sedei for any treatment. He took the time to figure out exactly how I suffered my injury and provided extra attention and service that I haven’t had from previous doctors. The physical therapy I received made a noticeable difference in my recovery and he utilized a laser rehab machine that most facilities do not invest in. As well he helped provide insight into what exercises I should do in the future to prevent this injury from happening again. Dr. Sedei had genuine care for my injury and I was very happy with the treatment I received.

What should you do if your doctor tells you that you have blocked coronary arteries? A recent study shows that in people who have blocked arteries and diabetes, the chances of dying or having a major heart attack are the same whether they undergo surgical procedures (bypass or stents) or just take medication to treat cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes. Death rate was also the same whether or not they took insulin BARI 2D study, New England Journal of Medicine. Patients who had bypass procedures had fewer heart attacks than those who had stents, even though both had the same chances of dying (also reported in the BARI-1 trial).

At Manual Medicine & Rehabilitation we focus primarily on auto injuries and rehabilitating those injuries. Concussions are often a part of car crash related injuries, and we take them seriously - healthy brain function is essential to quality of life. A recent NYT article about the prominent problem facing contact sports such as the NFL. I have outlined previous stories ( here, and here). Dave Duerson, a formal NFL player, tragically committed suicide. In the event, he intentionality spared his brain, and left behind a note: "Please, see that my brain is given to the N.F.L.'s brain bank."

For the most part, Portland weather is predictable. Often it rains. But once in a while, weather like we're getting now comes along and causes havoc on the city - traffic accidents. So if you've been in a crash, come talk to us. At Manual Medicine & Rehabilitation, we almost exclusively treat auto injuries. Our passion is helping you get better. An interesting study has come out of the accident research center at Monash University regarding the relationship between vehicle color and crash frequency.

Have you ever had one of those days where you hit EVERY red light on the way home. Hopefully this video makes you more grateful to live in a country where traffic control is well planned, if not always observed. When you're heading down the highway, ever stop to think what a crash would be like if someone crossed over the median causing a head on crash? Most people would think it would be worse than just hitting a wall. Assuming both vehicles are about the same mass, which scenario is worse? Understanding crash dynamics is an important part of what I do as a chiropractor in SE Portland.

Changes are upcoming for Commercial Driver's Licensing. Latest News: (7/9/10) - A national registry will be formed for drivers and physicians to better serve those involved in the trucking industry. Many physicians who now perform DOT physical exams may not provide this service in the future. Manual Medicine & Rehabilitation is dedicated to helping out the transportation industry and will be one the forefront of providing this service through these changes.

Sports, work related, and auto injuries sometimes require x-rays (radiographs) to be taken to rule out fractures and look for clues of ligament damage. With in-suite equipment, images can be taken immediately, saving you time and money in treatment. With respect to automotive injuries, research has been instrumental to improving our understanding of neck complaints. Below are 2 radiographs of the cervical (neck) spine of different individuals facing to the left. The natural curve (lordosis) that is present in both of these individuals is typical of a neck that has never had any significant injuries (such as whiplash injury).
