We've been providing quality chiropractic care to Trumbull County and surrounding regions since 1993. Initially started in Niles, Ohio in 1993, Dr. DeMalio owned and run Niles Chiropractic Clinic, Inc. After 7 years of success, the practice was relocated to Howland Township in May of 2000 in the professional building of North East Ohio Orthopedics on North Road, and the practice name was changed appropriately to Mark J. DeMalio, DC, Inc.
Our method is simple. We believe that health is among our most valuable possessions. And while we generally meet people after they've lost their health, our dedication is two-fold:
1. Relief Care
Relief or wellness care... its your choice explains Dr. Mark DeMalio.
When many people search for care in our office they have one purpose : relief. So that's where we start! During this initial stage of intensive care, we have several obligations:
Uncover the underlying cause of the health problem
Provide a care plan to produce the fastest results possible
Suggest ways patients can participate in their recovery
Explain the value of post-symptomatic wellness care
2. Wellness Care
We encourage our clients to achieve the highest levels of health they can. Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of ongoing chiropractic care. Our wish is to see our practice members abandon the prevailing sickness care model of health (waiting for symptoms and then taking action), in favor of the emerging wellness model.

I have often been asked as to the reason why I select to be a Chiropractor and I must admit this discipline of health care actually chose me.
I was a senior in high school, football player, and preparing for college with aspirations of a career in the health care field. I got a severe injury to my lower back during football training that not only ended my football career but also in turn debilitated my current way of life. Being a young man, I followed my parent's advice as well as the school's and went through the normal or traditional route for treatment for my injury. Medications didn't help, physical therapy failed. My ache was dismissed a pulled muscle, sprained ligament, being a large sized young man, and a you should be healed by now diagnosis. I consulted a well-respected chiropractor in town to see if he could help me. An x-ray revealed that I had a lumbar spine fracture. I started on the road to rehabilitation and after some treatments and proper management; I was back to a healthy, athletic, and active life. So as you can see, I take all patient's pain and ill health, well personally.
I am a native of Niles, Ohio and graduate of Niles McKinley High School. I worked as an orthopedic orderly at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for 4 years while attending Youngstown State University. I received my B.S. in Pre-Medicine-Biology from YSU. I got my Doctorate of Chiropractic and a B.S. in Human Biology from the National College of Chiropractic in 1992, which is now known as the National University of Health Sciences, located in Chicago.
Progressive Chiropractic Principles for Optimal Wellness. This statement sums it all up. I work very hard to let my patients know of all their options to address current and chronic health issues. I am diligent in coordinating my patient's care with my care, their family doctors and other health care providers to insure optimal health and well being.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Heather and have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Isabella, age 11 and Mia, age 7. With a young family, time goes by quickly, but I do manage to get in some golf and a few motorcycle rides.
My approach to keeping my health and manage my own concerns consists of weekly chiropractic care, whole food vitamin supplementation, and exercise. These are key components that help in keeping a positive mental attitude and fight the demands of my everyday life.

From Our Website
We've found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. Since chiropractic care can involve more than one visit, with each one building on the ones before, it's important that our relationship can go the distance. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home. The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you'll enjoy. It's as simple as that. Please keep in mind that communications via email over the internet are not secure.

The 24 moving bones of your spine protect your spinal cord while permitting normal turning and bending. Pairs of nerve roots, one on each side, branch off your spinal cord at each segmental level to service the organs and tissues of your body. When these openings are obstructed, even slightly, your brain can't properly control and regulate your body. But remember, bones are static structures. They don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't move bones unless commanded by the nervous system.
Specific chiropractic spinal adjustments, because they can help restore proper motion and position of individual spinal bones, can help promote proper healing. The longer you wait the more unseen damage there is and the longer it seems to take to recover. Because the nerves to the arms and hands exit the spine through the injured area of the neck, numbness and tingling are common. Even lower back pain can result directly from the trauma, or as a reaction to the loss of proper spinal curves. Whether you've been in an accident, stressed at work, or over-exerted yourself in the garden, your body is constantly adapting to the environment.
Have you been in an car accident? Research shows that even low impact accidents at speeds as low as 15 mph can cause bodily injury. If left untreated, these injuries could lead to future problems like headaches, tingling and numbness, muscle weakness, and even disc problems. Most auto injuries in Trumbull County result in soft tissue damage. Often, these injuries don't show up for days or even weeks after the accident. This is because your body releases chemicals called endorphins and enkephalons at the time of injury.
The nerve-rich facet joints on the back side of each spinal bone are a common cause of back pain. The pain can be a sign these interlocking "fingers" aren't moving right. The discs between spinal bones can be involved, too. Trauma can cause the soft, pulpy material in the middle to bulge, putting pressure on nearby nerves. Specific chiropractic adjustments can help improve spinal function. By restoring the way your spine works, discs and soft tissues may heal, nerve involvement may be reduced, pain can ease and better stability can return.
Repetitive motions (painting the ceiling), postural distortions (falling asleep with your neck twisted) and whiplash injuries from a car accident are physical stresses. So are slips and falls. Even being born! Today's environment constantly assaults us with chemicals. Drugs, preservatives, tobacco, alcohol, pollen and a host of other substances can affect our nervous system and muscle tone. When your body reacts by "tripping a circuit breaker" and causing subluxation, chiropractic care may help.
A common cause of headaches is from spinal bones in the neck that aren't supporting the head properly. You might not notice your reduced ability to turn your head. But these subluxations affect nerves, muscles and even the blood supply to your head. Our thorough examination detects subluxation patterns that could be causing your headaches. If subluxations are present, you're likely to benefit from chiropractic care. Some are surprised to learn that their headaches are being caused by problems in their lower back!
