Dr. Scott Walter, DC, ART

The driving force for Dr. Scott Walter's career in Chiropractic came while he was still in high school. Dr. Walter was very active in athletics and would frequently have minor injuries that would require him to visit the Chiropractor, but one injury in particular really solidified in his mind that he wanted to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. During one football game his sophomore season, he sustained a back injury after a hit from another player which was extremely painful and caused him to sit out the rest of the game. The day after the injury, Dr. Walter was evaluated by a local Chiropractor who, after ruling out a spinal fracture, found he had a severe contusion (bruise) along with some low back muscle spasms and low back subluxations (a bone that is misaligned causing irritation to the local nerves). After a few adjustments and some home exercises, Dr. Walter was right back to the playing field. After seeing how Chiropractors help not only athletes, but everyone live healthier lives through a natural approach to health care, Dr. Walter decided he wanted to help people in the same way.

Dr. Walter grew up in Wahpeton, ND, where he graduated from Wahpeton Senior High School. Following graduation, Dr. Walter was honored to accept a football scholarship to play for North Dakota State University, in Fargo, ND. As football can be a grueling sport physically and was a constant challenge to stay healthy, Dr. Walter credits regular Chiropractic care with keeping him on the field. Dr. Walter graduated Magna Cum Laude from NDSU with a degree in Human Performance and Fitness, which formed the foundation for his career in Chiropractic. He learned the basics of exercise, nutrition and how to motivate individuals to lead healthier lives. While attending NDSU, he also met the love of his life and future wife, Courtney. After graduating from NDSU, Dr. Walter attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Chiropractic.

Dr. Walter resides in Eden Prairie, MN with his beautiful wife Courtney and their dog Dutch. They really enjoy living in such a friendly and active community as Eden Prairie. Dr. Walter's passion is to help people learn about their bodies and how to live a healthier life by promoting proper nutrition, regular exercise, healthy lifestyle choices and regular Chiropractic adjustments.

I had a great experience with Dr. Jenny. She truly has a passion for her work, and made me very comfortable as a pregnant (20 weeks) patient. She was able to discuss my needs and pregnancy holistically and I am thrilled I found her practice!

I saw Dr. Jeremy for my neck/back and migraine issues. He was excellent! In about 12 sessions, he completely turned me around and I've been migraine free ever since. I can work out again with no migraines -this is huge! It's been 10 years since I've been able to work out because of exercise-induced migraines. He took the time to understand my issues and also used a technique that was new to me. Previously, I had been going to a clinic for a year and half with success for my back (but not for my migraines). And in just 12 sessions, Dr. Jeremy resolved everything! Additionally, I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Jenny about my kids and some special issues (autism, ADHD, etc). She too was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her work. These two docs - a husband and wife duo - are not only intelligent and gifted in their profession, but also super nice! They believe in treating patients as individuals (rather than the assembly line type of care that I've experienced elsewhere). I would highly recommend this team to anyone in need of chiropractic care.

I received immediate relief and excellent on going care for injury to my sciatica from Dr. Jeremy Heidt at Midwest Chiropractic and Wellness. I had been to a medical doctor previously and was prescribed pain medication that failed to relieve the pain. There was very little investigation as to the cause. After two more weeks of unrelenting pain I decided to seek chiropractic care. I had never been to a chiropractor before. At my first visit I actually experienced a short period of no pain. I was assigned a few exercises and scheduled return visits that have continued to ease the pain over longer periods of time. I am so thankful for the care and help I've received from Dr. Jeremy Heidt. The other staff I've encountered are always friendly and professional. An excellent experience in all ways.

Great experience all around. Nice people who really care about their clients. I’ve seen a lot of chiropractors through the years, and none have been able to achieve the level of healing I’m getting with Dr. Heidt. The Cox method of manipulation is unique and very effective for my type of injury (2 bulging discs in the lower back). 5 stars!

A month after injury my daughter still had a very swollen ankle. We visited Jeremy, who directed us to get an x-ray to rule out a fracture for how swollen it was for that long. Ruling out fracture, he was able to give her treatments close together working that ankle in clinic & with exercises at home. She went from half a grapefruit size swelling on a Wed to almost nothing by Sunday. Using a good brace & the work that had been done- she was able to play 4 games in 6 hours on Sunday, without pain, during or after. A much better way to end that season. Highly recommend!!!

I started going here after two of my co workers recommended Midwest and I am so happy I did!Dr. Jenny has been the missing link I've needed in my postpartum recovery after having my baby 8 months ago. She knows what she's talking about and takes the time to only explain things and make sure I understand! She understands what woman's bodies go through during and after pregnancy and that's a game changer for me. She has a ease about her presence that makes you feel comfortable. The whole office has a family feel and I always feel so welcomed. It's hard to focus on your job when your back hurts. Unfortunately, standing or sitting for hours can stress your back and worsen your aches and pains. These eight tips can help you reduce or prevent job-related back pain. Stress and strain on your back are more likely to occur when you remain in the same position for a long time. Whether you work in construction, drive a truck, or spend the day in an office, changing your position regularly will reduce the strain on your back. Breaks don't have to be long to be effective.

Chiropractic care offers a safe, effective way to treat pain and improve mobility, yet myths about this beneficial therapy continue to circulate. If you've been thinking about starting chiropractic treatment, you may have heard a few of these common myths. Your friends may have mentioned that their necks or backs were "cracked" during a visit to the chiropractor. Cracking certainly sounds alarming, but fortunately, that's not what actually happens. The cracking sound occurs during spinal manipulation, a treatment that realigns the vertebrae in your spine.

Nearly everyone has back pain from time to time. In fact, 60 to 70 percent of people living in industrialized countries have experienced low back pain, according to World Health Organization estimates. Back pain can occur for many reasons, including these common causes. Flexible discs located between the vertebra in your spine help hold your spine together and act as shock absorbers when you move. A herniated disc occurs when the gel-like center of the disc protrudes through the tough, outer coating.

Poor posture, stress, strain, and injuries can lead to a misalignment of the vertebrae that make up your spine. Even minor misalignments of your spine can cause problems that affect the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves in your back, neck, and other areas of the body. A chiropractic adjustment, also called spinal manipulation, realigns your spine with a quick, hands-on thrusting motion. Adjustments not only improve joint function but also reduce muscle tension responsible for pain and stiffness.

Even the most minor automobile accident can have major effects on your body. When we are involved in motor vehicle accidents, thousands of pounds of force are exerted on the body, most notably the neck and spine. Cervical acceleration/deceleration (CAD) injuries, more commonly referred to as Whiplash, occur when the head and neck are thrown or "snapped" back and forth very quickly. The result of this injury is damage to the ligaments, muscle, and discs of the neck and spine. CAD can cause injuries to the head and neck, but also to the upper/mid back and lower back.

At Midwest Chiropractic and Wellness, our Eden Prairie chiropractic staff is ready to help you find effective and holistic relief from your lower back pain that goes beyond just temporary symptom relief. We aim to help you figure out why your back pain is occurring so we can address the root causes and truly help your spine heal. Nearly 8 out of 10 people will have lower back pain at some point. When we look at the leading risk factors of this condition, it's easy to understand why so many people are affected by it!
