Services
Before each regular session begins we often offer free introductory level 1 yoga classes for you to try. The free intro classes are offered at the time of all level 1 classes and gentle classes. To register for a free class, or as many classes as you'd like, please call the studio at 410-360-1663 and leave your name, phone number and the day and time of the classes you would like to attend.
Learn the basic principles of hatha yoga with an introduction to asana (postures), focusing on structure and alignment through use of props when necessary, and working with breath. Focus is on basic standing postures, forward and beginner backward bends, twists and restorative poses. You will also start to build a foundation for meditation.
Level Two Intermediate Yoga class is for students who have completed the Level One course and wish to deepen their practice. Greater attention is given to alignment and structure as we build upon Level One asanas into deeper, more advanced levels of the postures as well as an introduction to inversions.
Since our new students usually have some questions about the studio or yoga in general we have gathered a few of the more frequently asked questions which we hope will be helpful. It is important that you wear something comfortable which allows you to move freely. Women usually wear footless tights or leggings, t-shirts or any comfortable top.

Mountain Yoga Studio is a sanctuary. The classes are taught by well trained and competent teachers who are certified and experienced. The Studio has a welcoming environment including the owner, instructors, students and featured guests. Classes range from gentle yoga to advanced and include classes for everyone with tailored modifications for persons with physical challenges.

Special workshops and other events enhance the experience including guided mediation, yoga teacher certification training, group acupuncture sessions, group Rieki, Yoga Nidra, and special workshops such as the upcoming Shoulder Workshop taught by an Iyengar Certified Instructor. The continued contribution and success of Mountain Yoga can be assessed by the number of years the studio has been in operation and the number of students who have been with Mountain Yoga for more than 20 years.

The mindset of the population is charitable, giving, friendly and approachable. Mountain Yoga is an experienced, caring. stable, competent and safe place to practice yoga at any level. I highly recommend Mountain Yoga Studio.

I took my first yoga class in more than a year at Mountain Yoga last night and I am so glad I did. Ever since I stopped practicing at my previous studio I have been hesitant to try anywhere new, because it was my first yoga experience & I enjoyed the instructor's style so much. Needless to say I took a Level 1 class last night and left feeling amazing.

The instructor was laid back yet knowledgeable. She had a very casual approach to yoga and didn't project an air of superiority as I've seen in other places. I told her it had been a while since I last practiced and she paid attention, coming over a few times to adjust my poses so that I received the maximum benefit. Some people don't like being corrected, but I appreciated that she was in tune and shared my desire to have a successful practice.

There were people of all shapes, sizes and ages there and she worked with everyone's capabilities and encouraged us to challenge ourselves. She had plenty of materials available to borrow, including mats, blankets, straps and blocks. I am only held back from giving five stars because I usually enjoy a bit of ambient music in the background when I practice and she didn't play any. The studio itself is just one large room so it fits about 10-12 people at capacity. I absolutely plan to go back!
