Naturemed We are an integrative, naturopathic medical clinic in Boulder and the only one of its kind in the area. We have an MD on staff who is versed in alternative medicine and who takes care of prescription needs and IV orders. We have four naturopathic doctors on staff. Our Naturopathic Doctors are all graduates of CNME accredited post-doctorate naturopathic colleges.

Dr. Kelly and Steve Parcell have also completed extensive internships with prominent medical doctors after graduating from Bastyr University.
Services
Naturopathic doctor oncology providers (ND Oncs) play an important role in cancer care, seeking to educate, help manage side effects of cancer treatment, improve overall response, help prevent recurrence, and to optimize health. To help achieve positive patient outcomes, ND Oncs use a wide range of natural therapeutics and supportive strategies based on clinical trials, long-standing traditional use, and patient preference. It is essential that patients receive guidance in the use of integrative therapeutic options from high-quality care providers.
NatureMed can help you overcome acute and chronic GI conditions ranging from dysbiosis, heartburn, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), eosinophilic esophagitis, small intestinal bacteria overgrowth (SIBO), gastro-paresis, chronic diarrhea and constipation, and inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis.
Both our medical doctor and the staff naturopathic doctors have done extensive training in natural (bioidentical) hormone replacement. Dr. Steve Parcell is board certified in anti-aging medicine through the American Academy for Anti-aging Medicine (A4M). We offer all types; from hCG to testosterone injections, creams and pellets.
We have found that sports anemia is common is the greater Denver and Boulder area. Low ferritin is ten times more common in women than men. We use a very high quality, highly absorbable iron as the source of intravenous iron because it is typically well tolerated. Intravenous iron must be approved by our medical doctor.

I have been to several Naturopath doctors and specialist MD's over the years trying to get help for chronic health issues. Dr. Kelly Parcell has been very helpful in starting to get me some answers about the causes of my chronic skin issues and determining from bloodwork that I have a Candida yeast overgrowth. I am now encouraged to be working with her on treating this through diet changes as well as other treatment and I'm already seeing results!

She has been very supportive and encouraging on my health journey thus far and I look forward to seeing more improvements in my health. I would highly recommend Dr. Kelly and NatureMed Clinic.

I've had opportunity to have consults with various doctors at Naturemed over the years, and every single one of them has been extraordinarily knowledgeable and caring. Our star doctor has been Dr. West, and we can't thank her enough for all she has done for us. We love and admire her so very much. Those working the main desk have also been very attentive, and good at following up when we have questions. Alyssa, the current front-desk person, represents the peak of efficiency.

It's always nice to know that we can count on her. We have had such good results with Integrative Medicine, that we take great pleasure in recommending it as the most complete path to take when faced with health issues and preventive care.

It was my first time getting a Myers' cocktail IV and was impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the great setting. The setting was clinical, yet warm and relaxing. The staff clearly explained the IV process and checked in on my regularly. I have since visited a few other IV clinics and can say Naturemed is by far and away the best setting and service I have experienced.

I'm so grateful to have found NatureMed! My whole family works with Denise Clark who is very knowledgeable about gut issues, Lyme Disease and mold exposure. We appreciate her dedication to continue learning about new research and new treatments. What makes the clinic special is the dedication that the office staff has in helping their patients.

For example, Nicole has been so kind by squeezing my daughter in for IVs when she's really struggling, despite the clinic's full schedule. She is super quick returning emails and phone messages too. Preston, who runs the IV clinic, has been amazing with the needles. He makes it as pleasant as possible. The heating pads, pillows and reclining chairs help too. Overall, our experience has been really positive!

My wife and I are so grateful for Dr Kirsten West and the entire staff at NatureMed. A few months ago, my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer during an elective hysterectomy, and we have chosen to pursue holistic treatment at NatureMed despite living in Maryland. The staff was compassionate and competent, and Dr West was extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. Looking forward to 100% healing!

I visited the Naturemed clinic for almost a year. I bought hundreds of dollars in supplements and felt no real improvement with my chief health concerns. The week before Thanksgiving, I came into the office with severe abdominal pain. The doctor did an abdominal examination and I cried as she palpated my lower right side. When she was finished she told me to stop taking all my supplements, but also recommended I buy another one ( a probiotic this time).

Later that night I developed a fever and vomiting. My boyfriend had to beg me to go to the emergency room (I was very reluctant because I had just seen a doctor that morning). That same night I went to Boulder Community Hospital where I was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and had an emergency open appendectomy. I stayed a week in the hospital on IV antibiotics.

I messaged the Doctor through the patient portal the night I went to the hospital. Her response came almost a week later. She wrote to me that it was essentially my fault because I didn't express how much pain I was in. This was a dangerous situation for me that could have been avoided with proper care and consideration. I do not recommend this Clinic.

I have been struggling with reflux issues for about 18 painful months. Dr. Clark at Naturemed Clinic has really turned things around for me in the span of about 2 months. I'm thrilled and surprised at the result! I have always leaned toward allopathic medicine, but in this case I needed a solution other than PPIs or surgery and I found it with the excellent natural docs at Naturemed. Great staff, friendly atmosphere, and most importantly: effective care.

We have worked with Dr Clark for our Daughter with Lyme disease. She is a great lady and knows A LOT about Lyme. One one other doctor that we have seen can even compare to her knowledge. The office staff is amazing too!

I have been a patient of Dr. Steve Parcell for the past 6 months. Working with Dr. Steve and NatureMed Clinic has been a great experience. After several years of recovery from surgery along with an underlying complex endocrine condition, I am lucky to have Dr. Steve as my primary doctor now. He has has taken the time to fully understand my medical history to guide my climb back to health and fitness.

Over the past 6 months, I have made much more progress with Dr. Steve than the years that followed my surgery. If you are looking for help on cardiovascular, endocrine, men's health, or sports medicine issues, I highly recommend Dr. Steve!

We have been working with Dr Clark to help my daughter with chronic Lyme disease. She is wonderful! Dr Clark knows so much about Lyme disease and she is so knowledgable about the supplements that will help. We LOVE the office staff. They are almost as important as seeing the Dr! They are kind and work with you to get in when you need to. Dr Clark has been a life saver. Literally!

I am so grateful to Dr. Kelly who checked my blood iron levels and discovered I was very low. I didn't realize how much that was affecting my breathing. I had recently been experiencing anxiety in a group setting which was so unlike me. But little did I know that my iron was so low it was affecting the ability of my blood to oxygenate and when I was talking louder in large groups I couldn't get enough O2. Dr. Kelly discovered the low iron and suggested an iron IV to get the level up quickly.

I ended up doing two IV's over a two week period and my iron levels went from 16 to 44. Immediately after the first IV I realized my breathing was no longer labored. I feel great! My energy has returned and I've had no more "anxiety" since. Thank you Dr. Kelly and the entire NatureMed Team!

First of all, I will say that I have nothing negative to say about my consultation with Dr. Stephen Parcell. It's how the office is managed that has me ticked off. I recently had an initial consultation with Dr. Parcell. I completed the necessary paperwork prior to the office visit. I told them when I arrived I couldn't pay the entire amount for the visit that day and was given an office policy form to complete which I did.

It stated that if the person can't pay at the initial visit, there will be a $10 charge on top of the full visit charge for the invoicing. I thought that was fair and had no problem with that. I was directed to Dr. Parcell's office and we began our initial discussion. Within 5 minutes into the discussion, the office manager knocked on the door.

She asked if I could come with her and we went into an exam room and she wanted to know when I could pay and how much I could pay that day. I was astounded by this interruption with my discussion with the doctor. I have never been put in such an awkward position during a Dr's visit. I am a working professional and was simply trying to get to a better place with my medications for my heart/cholesterol issues.

I have every intention of paying and was not made aware of the initial fee of $295 for the consultation. After this quite strange discussion with the office manager, I went back into the Dr.'s office and we continued to discuss my health issues and how best to stay healthy. The discussion was very comprehensive and I felt good about it. The Dr. suggested some supplements and we walked out to the front desk and he pulled the supplements and put them on the front office counter for me.

After we shook hands and he left, the office manager again appears and takes the supplements off of the counter and proceeds to tell me that they couldn't sell them to me that day since I didn't pay for the entire appointment. I have never been so taken aback by such a process. It is amazing to me that the office manager is allowed to treat patients like this.

I can only imagine how others have felt that may not have the personal confidence that I have. Simply appalling. What happened to caring for the patient? This is the strangest experience I have ever had at a Dr's office. I left feeling angry that I was treated this way and I hope that this post can help others in the future. I will also be writing a letter directly to the office.

The doctors and medical assistants here are very nice, competent, and caring. The problem is the front desk woman. Never have I seen someone so rude and unprofessional in a clinical setting like this!

When I turned 45 I knew I had to get serious about my health and keeping my youthful energy and looks. I was starting to feel the symptoms of peri-menopause and decided I was not going to become just another middle aged woman with all the symptoms I had seen my friends endure: loss of libido, moodiness, hot flashes, weight gain, lifeless hair and skin, memory and sleep problems.

I read several books and got excited about Bio-identical Hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). I felt great within weeks and have only had mild menopausal symptoms over the years. I am symptom free at this time. I am 51 yrs old now and I feel 35 and look pretty great! BHRT, lifestyle changes and supplements as prescribed by Dr. Brown and Dr. Kelly have changed my life.

They also sent me for a through heart scan and checked all my arteries and insides for any signs of trouble. I feel like I have a great team monitoring my health from the inside out. I owe my great health and youthful feeling to Dr Kelly and Naturemed.

I made an appointment via the website. I was really excited for the appointment, but when I showed up, was told that their online system isn't synced (don't know why they didn't remove it or manually check to call patients that booked this way) and they did not have an appointment for me. I could however book one two weeks out. I had arranged my schedule around this appointment and quite frankly don't have much confidence in a medical practice that offers online appointments that don't work (and they know they don't work!).

Nine months ago in June 2013 I was referred to Drs. Steve and Kelly Parcell of the NatureMed Clinic in Boulder, Colorado for my newly-discovered cardiovascular and diabetes conditions. My referral to Drs. Parcell resulted from a nation-wide search to locate and seek medical help for my conditions from top-notch medical practitioners who practice holistic medicine blended with traditional medicine when necessary. Dr. Steve's 2011 ground-breaking "Dare to Live: A Naturopathic Doctor's Complete Guide to the Prevention and Treatment of Coronary Artery Disease" (5 stars on Amazon) is a complete guide to a healthy heart.

Several well respected professors and practitioners in Portland, Oregon advised that I would receive innovative and excellent medical treatment from the Parcells who have fine reputations among their peers in the holistic health community. These predictions proved to be accurate. Based upon my 24-month cardiovascular rehabilitation program created by the Parcells, markers for significant components of my cardiovascular and diabetic conditions verify substantial improvement in my health over the past nine months, and it is anticipated that the arc will bend further towards improved health over the next 15 months of my program.

For example, the Parcells' cardiovascular program, with me being compliant, has resulted in a reduction in my blood pressure from 141/90 to 122/78, improving from pre-diabetic to normal in eight months. And my A1C marker for diabetes has been reduced from 7.0% to 6.3% (high risk to intermediate risk), and our goal is to reduce it to 5.0% (optimal risk).

I also lost 27 lbs, and weigh the least I've weighted in 25 years. Drs. Steve and Kelly actually listen to their patients, attempt to find the underlying cause of disease, and use the least invasive measures first. Unlike 99% of medical practitioners, the Parcells spent whatever time is necessary with their patients to address their needs - hours rather than minutes.

Their professional fees are reasonable, and they provide their patients with documentation which may allow them to seek reimbursement for their medical expenses from their insurance companies. Drs. Steve and Kelly Parcell, and their staff at the NatureMed Clinic are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable - rendering individualized treatment and care for their patients depending upon their specialized needs.

People who are willing to take responsibility for their health by participating in treatment from naturopathic physicians such as Drs. Steve and Kelly Parcell, rather than from "statins, stents, and surgery" physicians, can have confidence that they are receiving the best medical care possible to achieve desired results. I have multiple serious health problems that seemingly refuse to respond to western medicine. You can imagine how exhausted and nickle-and-dimed that means I was when I turned to alternative therapies. I wanted two things: a doctor that had experience in treating my conditions and one that would do what my other doctors wouldn't: look for the root of the problem. Suffice it to say I was really disappointed with my experience here.

With no lab tests, just a discussion of past symptoms, I was sold about $300 worth of supplements, which I felt were sort of conveniently dosed to run out in 30 days. No significant improvement, and I did not go back for a follow up. Though it may be less important than the technical aspect itself, I was also really off-put by the office's attitude.

I felt the doctor to be rather self-important and aloof. I can get that at my regular doctor's office, and my insurance pays for that visit! All in all, maybe ok for minor problems, but this is not the place to support major health concerns.

I came to Nature Med through a connection of a family member four months ago. This was my first experience with a naturopathic doctor and, really, any "alternative" physician. After 13 years of asking my various PCP's for assistance with weight loss, and simply being told that I need to consume fewer calories than I take in (as if weight loss were a simple matter of self-control), I decided to seek help from a different type of venue. Thirty-five pounds of weight loss later, I can wholeheartedly endorse this clinic and their approach. Dr. Kelly is attentive, listens well and seems to be genuinely interested in producing good outcomes.

Her marketing materials seem geared toward women and women's stuff, but I am just as comfortable with her and her knowledge base as I am with previous male physicians. I feel as though I have a partner on the path to wellness that is science-based but conversant with a broader sphere of healing arts. I am very happy to have stumbled across this group.

I took my son here to help him get healthy, since he has been feeling bad for a while. Dr. Steve took a lot of time with him and explained everything so that my son knew what was being done, why, and how he would be correcting imbalances. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome. I felt that the entire experience was positive and gave my son confidence that he can start feeling better.

We have been to several doctors and they only want to give my son antidepressants. The testing that is done by this doctor is very extensive so you can really know what your body needs and where the imbalances are. I highly recommend starting here since they have a full staff with different specialties, including an MD so they can prescribe meds when needed. Great atmosphere, nice staff and a fantastic naturopath! Thanks Dr. Steve for helping my son get better and feel confident about being healthy!
