Call
This is an important update for individuals calling the Pathway Center for Psychotherapy. Currently we are offering Virtual Telecommunication appointments. They are available by calling your therapist or by contacting us at 770-446-5642 for an appointment. These appointments are necessary because of the need for social distancing. Please call us for more information. Pathway Center is a community of clinicians that can address mental, emotional, and behavioral concerns for individuals, couples, and families.
Services
In the late 1990's four accomplished psychotherapists came together to form Pathway Center. All came with the similar philosophy of meeting and accepting people where they are. Through this process of acceptance and understanding Drs. Ashe, Woodruff, Roney, and Ms. Chelette began working with individuals, couples, and families.
We enter into relationships believing that we will create a family that is more fulfilling than the one we grew up in and we deserve to accomplish that goal. In couples' counseling we ask: What are the fundamental obstacles to a relationship that are both deeply intimate and profoundly equal?
We bring who we are into every relationship. Groups provide a safe context for exploring how we impact, and are impacted by others. Group therapy provides an opportunity to risk new behaviors that have seemed impossible before, and can be a powerful source of learning and healing. This learning can then be integrated into the rest of our lives.
Medical psychotherapy and pharmacologic management are provided for adults with depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD, and women's issues.

Bait & switch? I've really struggled to find a therapist for my son. We have already been to 2 previously who were not a good fit. Finally found several of Pathway's personnel listed directly on my insurance company's website. In advance of our appointment, I sent in their requested forms containing our detailed insurance information - had our PCM process a referral to my insurance company AND my insurance company sent them a referral approval letter - all prior to our appointment.

Then we had our first session - my son was, for the first time ever, very happy and engaged and really enjoyed the experience. He's asked when we are going back twice now but when I reached out for another appointment I was told that they are not "currently accepting (my insurance) at this time" and that we may "continue services as self-pay only." Now I have to break my son's heart and tell him we can't go back and for no good reason at all.

Then I have to start this hellish search all over again! This is a really horrible thing to do to people especially people who are struggling! If you don't accept insurance, get off the insurance company's website and tell the patient before you see them - There really is no excuse for this! Edit: AND NOW THEY'VE SENT ME A BILL FOR THE SESSION FOR WHICH THEY DID NOT VERIFY MY INSURANCE IN ADVANCE (my insurance which is willing to pay for the session!)

My therapist was wonderful but whenever I call to book an appointment, they never call back. I've left a voicemail and email and never heard back. It's unfortunate that the actual service is overshadowed by unprofessionalism. Even the other reviews on here have mentioned similar situations.

Just FYI for the parents out there, do not waste your time calling if your child has specifially, "high functioning" ASD. Neither the Pathways ASD center in Marietta nor this Pathways provides services for high functioning children.

If you need a prescription from Dr.'s at this doctors office. they WILL NOT CALL it in, and you must be sure no one loses the piece of paper it is written on or they charge you a $25 fee. Their personal opinions do not allow them to be objective during counseling with the Psychiatrist Dr. Zhang. If anything, she makes the patient feel judged instead of being helped. Our counselor, on the other hand, is quite helpful.

The psychiatrists and psychologists I have seen; including Dr. Jiang, Dr, .Bower, and Dr. Collins; have all helped me in different ways. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, but overall I have been happy with the treatment provided. However, the administration side is lacking in competence, especially concerning communication. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars to The Pathway Center.
