Millions of instructions flow from your brain, down the spinal cord, out to every cell, tissue and organ in your body. Signals sent back to the brain confirm if your body is working right. Improper motion or position of the moving bones of the spine called a subluxation can interfere with this vital exchange by irritating nerves.

Microcurrent therapy is a form of treatment used for patients with soft tissue injuries and chronic pain. Similar to electrical stimulation therapy, electrodes are placed on the skin over the affected tissue. Unlike electrical muscle stimulation, the microcurrents are very small, so you do not feel anything while the treatment is in progress. Our bodies have a natural electrical current that helps cells to communicate. When there is injury or disease, the electrical currents are disrupted. Without these currents, the cells cannot function properly.

Therapeutic exercises are specific exercises meant for correcting specific problems. Depending the matter of your concern, your chiropractor may give you a list of exercises to perform to reduce discomfort. The focus of therapeutic exercise is to regain flexibility, strength, and endurance related to specific physical problems. No matter what type of exercise is prescribed to remedy a patient's specific condition, the final goal of rehabilitation is to acquire a maximum level of physical fitness, without the use of more invasive methods.

If you know you will be standing for an extended period, make sure that you wear supportive shoes and make sure you know how to keep good posture. Good posture is the key to a healthy spine. Keep your chin up and your shoulders back. Keep both feet about shoulder-width apart. Make sure that you are getting up every 30 minutes to stretch, even if you just walk around for a few minutes. Next, be sure you are seated correctly. Make sure you have a chair that offers good lower back support. You also want your feet flat on the floor with your knees at a 90 degree angle.

Chiropractic helps to remove postural imbalances and structural misalignments that can accumulate in our bodies over time. Chiropractic works by restoring your own inborn ability to be healthy. For your body to remain healthy, your nervous system must function well. For your nervous system to function well it must be free of interference. By restoring spinal function with Chiropractic adjustments, nerve interference by misaligned vertebrae is removed, thus allowing optimal nervous system function and improved health.

Professional athletes are constantly reaching new heights in their professional careers. With each passing year, new records are shattered and the human body is pushed to its limits. Competitors train rigorously and take their diets to a new level every day. Yet despite the conscientious care and precautions that athletes follow, most experience musculoskeletal injuries at one time or another. Chiropractic treatment offers a balanced, holistic approach, by using spinal adjustments and therapeutic modalities to help the patient's muscles, tendons, and ligaments return to their normal function.
