Incredibly unique teachers and classes. I appreciate what this safe space has to offer- a time for internal reflection and exploration. I did not find their classes to be challenging enough and their wood floors are super hard, making it difficult to execute particular moves safely. The teachers and staff were helpful and welcoming- the studio also seemed well cared for. You can tell this place was made with love. It just wasn't my tribe.

I loved this place so much so that I decided to join right there and then. Later I showed my boss and she too decided to join. Even our waitress took a picture of the information I had on the table. I can't wait fir what I can get from them. Such a great and inviting atmosphere. I felt so invited and comfort the moment I walked in. Can't wait to go for my first visit. I will update my experience here.

Teacher training here has been an absolutely incredible experience! The program is excellent, thorough (including Zoom teaching instruction) and well rounded with superb passionate instructors. I learned so very much more that I never would have in 10 years of yoga classes!

I have been a regular for over a year now. I have tried different studios before, and I love my experience at Savannah Yoga Center. Everyone is kind and welcoming. I have learned so much about myself and the practice of yoga. I definitely see an improvement in my overall wellness and mindfulness : it is such a kind and caring community!

I was only in Savannah for a couple of days for vacation and really was glad to be able to continue my yoga practice while away in in your beautiful studio. Two large airy rooms with lots of props and well curated music made the time so enjoyable. Loved the flow classes I attended and wish you were in my hometown! Special thanks for the guidance of Alexandria and Cailyn.

I did a work trade program here for awhile. Kelly - owner- is lovely. Her staff, too, are all very approachable. Studio is clean and conveniently located. I enjoyed taking stress reduction classes. Kelly expanded her retail offerings and there are sooooooooo many goodies! I liked her gem and candle selection.

I really enjoyed this studio until I purchased the package of 10 classes. I was recently notified that I need to move last minute (my husband is in the army) and I was only able to use one class up. I do not have much time to continue going between now and moving with all of the packing and errands I need to do so I was really disappointed to hear they could not refund me ANY portion of the $140+ I invested in this studio.

I wouldn't recommend this studio, no empathy or understanding from the staff. Would not even consider a negotiation, very close minded and very disappointing to the point that I don't even want to TRY and attend one or two more classes. Its just awkward for me now. $140 is a lot of money to me otherwise I would not be leaving this review.

I thoroughly enjoyed my class this week. I took a solo birthday trip to Savannah and decided to start my birthday morning with a yoga class (after not having taken a class in three years). It was the right decision. Yoga always makes me cry (big baby, right)? I didn't make it past the first five minutes without finding what did not serve me and releasing it. My instructor was great and I am encouraged to keep up my practice at home. My class was both challenging and therapeutic.

I was in Savannah from out of town and did a drop-in class here. They made it so easy and they're super helpful. They have everything. mats, bricks, etc. The class and teacher were wonderful. They community in the class were warm and welcoming. I had such a lovely time. I can't wait to go again next time I'm in town. Namaste SYC.

Great studio! I decided to check out this studio because I found it on the Mind/Body app and I'm so glad I did. Their studio is very large and spacious. As I entered I was greeted by a very polite young lady and she informed where the class will be held. Also there is a very large area where you can keep your belongings. I entered the room (I believe there are two rooms where classes are held) which was lovely and filled with all the accessories you need (blocks, blankets, etc). The Friday evening class was delicious! It a slow pace combined with a delicious Shavasana the last 15 minutes or so. Go check this studio out!

The Best and Brightest yoga in Savannah by far. Beautiful look, perfect downtown location, amazing classes. Almost all of the classes are all levels - I felt comfortable as a beginner and continue to be challenged as I advance. Wonderful teachers, style variety, atmosphere and vibes.no matter what kind of day I'm having I always leave happy and destressed. Can't say enough!

SYC is an excellent place to practice. There are numerous classes spanning different styles throughout the day. It is staffed with friendly, dedicated instructors who provide nonjudgmental support to everyone from beginners to advanced yogis. SYC is in a convenient location with easy, free parking in the area and getting started was hassle-free. If you are a dedicated yogi or just want to try it out, Savannah Yoga Center is the place to go.

I just moved here from the west coast and Savannah Yoga Center was my first stop on my yoga studio exploration. I must say that I haven't even thought about venturing away from this great studio. The teachers are amazing! They have a diverse schedule to accommodate students at any level. I love how they have two separate studios with one exclusively for heated classes. The parking is easy as well! I'm so happy to learn that Savannah has such a strong yoga community at SYC!

If you are looking for a place to call your home away from home. THIS is the place where you can find it. The teachers and staff there are some of the greatest people I've ever known.from day one I felt like I belonged. They have a huge variety of classes to choose from starting super early, before sunrise, to late in the evening even after the sun has set. Kelley and her team are knowledgeable, selfless, and magical.

The Savannah Yoga Center is by far the best yoga experience and studio I have ever encountered. AND it is located in the heart of Savannah.walking distance to local shops and restaurants and the famous Forsyth Park.

Wonderful place for connecting mind, body, and spirit in these challenging times! I moved from Colorado to Savannah less than a year ago and one of my biggest fears was leaving behind my yoga community. After researching the local studios, I decided SYC might be worth a try. The moment I walked up the stairs, I knew I was home. Yes, the stairs are creaky and the building is old, but it has a feeling of warmth and authenticity, which, to me, is part of the draw. Kelly, the owner, has worked hard to develop an ethos of unity, love and compassion, and it's evident in every class I've taken.

In fact, my husband's never been a big yoga fan, and he loves SYC so much that he ended up going 4X a week when I was out of town, and much to my surprise, he bought an annual membership. The classes are varied, from restorative yin to physically intense, so it's worth trying several to find your favorite mix. I also enjoy the variety of seminars and special weekend classes. SYC is definitely on par, if not even better than what I left behind in Colorado.

We all come in different shapes and sizes and have different likes and dislikes.part of what yoga teaches us. If you want a yoga center with the smell of new teak flooring, warmed towels, and incandescent lighting, this probably isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a place with a caring/spiritual attitude, combined with highly knowledgeable and skilled instructors, a wide variety of members from all walks of life and a fun, funky building in a central location that's withstood the test of time, I think you'll be very pleased! (Plus, you can always find free parking within a block; something that's invaluable in Savannah!) I love this place!

I attended "Yoga Fest" at SYC one weekend in January 2015 and almost two-years later I'm still going and growing. The studio offers a variety of classes for all levels and interest and the teachers are warm and encouraging. SYC is for anyone who needs a home to practice in or a place to drop-in while visiting Savannah. It is a place to be on your mat in the midst of community.

I truly enjoyed my experience at SYC ~ I feel very lucky to have had the pleasure of taking Kelly Boyd's class. She is a TRUE yoga teacher who embodies not just knowledge but sincere soul. And it's no secret; The studio was buzzing with yogis. My class was packed wall to wall and for good reason. Kelly is a teacher I felt like I could sit and listen to for hours.

She made her space feel so accepting and loved. I really appreciated all the adjustments ~ I'd never been touched that much in class and felt truly spoiled with delight! Her class embodied heart and I truly left feeling heart-full.

I LOVE Savannah Yoga Center! I started coming here when I would come to Savannah on work trips and fell in love with the studio's welcoming atmosphere and great teachers. SYC has a class that fits everyone's needs from hot power yoga to gentle restorative to creative lotus flow! I recently moved to Savannah and SYC has made me feel at home and feel a great sense of community in a brand new city that could have been very lonely. 5 stars all the way

By far the best yoga studio I've ever been to. Each teacher has their own unique style. I can change up what class I want to go to depending on my mood and my physical capability that day. The teachers teach you how to improve as well as the fundamentals. I definitely will continue to be a member for a long time!

I did a 30 for 30 and then went on to an unlimited, which turned out to be a trap. The instructor I bought it from told me that it is auto renewing. I told her I don't want an Auto renew. She said you can just go online and remove it. Well I decided after I got a surprise business trip and they refused to suspend my account, trying to tell me some cockamamie bs about how it is cheaper to not suspend it, That I would no longer wish to be a member. Thats when the crap hit the fan.

There was a $75 cancellation fee and apparently I was locked into a 3 month. Surprise! So I had to go NY and tell them as it is. I will be going somewhere else who has studios that wash their blankets once in a while and is more respectful of a person who works 70-80 hours a week. After all of that I am so uncomfortable with them that I am not returning for any more of my unlimited even tho I have two weeks left.

They also devalue your unlimited with things like Yoga Fest which is intended to over fill the classes more but they have two days of free yoga for beginners. Not my thing I am more advanced than that and paid for better classes. The two other negative reviews on here are spot on. The positive ones are from those yogis who see the good in everything, yeah so do I but this place is amateurs, and thats because all their teachers for the most part became teachers at this studio. Lauren Mcdonald is pretty good and she is around, I have taken classes with her at other studios.

The only reason I selected this studio was the hours but seriously clean your props they are gross, and have a cut off on some of your classes, when you have 4inches between mats the class is overfull!

My favorite yoga studio in Savannah! I'm sad that they left Pooler, but the original location has got it goin' on. The teachers are well-trained and very perceptive to each student's needs and experience level. Favorite parts of my practice here are the centering time and great hands-on assists.

I was in Savannah for a month and they had a great one-month membership deal that allowed me a class a day. I'm so glad I came to practice here. Everyone was very friendly, the studio was very clean, and signing up for the membership and individual classes was a breeze. I especially liked the flow classes given by Maggie, Eric, and Cara. Really made my time in Savannah relaxing and fun!

The only downside is the restrooms are a bit small, which can be a challenge if you need to change before or after class. But not a dealbreaker by any means. Parking was always very easy and it's walking distance to coffee shops and Forsyth Park. If I'm ever back in Savannah, I'll definitely come back here.

Dropped in for 2 classes during my recent visit to Savannah. This is a flow based studio, which is worth noting if you are used to a hatha yoga based practice. My first was an all levels class (with Kat) which was challenging, and I sweated a good amount. I am not a huge fan of flow, so I opted for child's pose several times during the flow parts.

I appreciated that I wasn't the only one taking this modification and the teacher wasn't thrown off. I left feeling worked, but also relaxed. At the beginning of class she walked around with a minty aromatherapy that she put on us, which I greatly enjoyed. My second class was a gentle flow class by candlelight on Friday night (with Len) and was very relaxing.

We concentrated on pigeon pose and related hip openers, which I greatly needed. He was a great teacher, explained all the poses really well and offered several modifications for each. He walked around and helped everyone with several hands on adjustments. The sevasana was one of the best I've experienced. It helped that the class was almost dark, and Len was walking around offering some great shoulder and neck massage/stretches.

The only thing I didn't like about the class was the lack of music (which is a big part of yoga for me). The studio smells nice (like incense, of course!) and has a nice little room for your personal belongings which is monitored by the front desk. They also have a substantial gift/book/supply area, which was nice to peruse. They seem to have 2 studios, though both of my classes were in the orange room.

The orange room has hardwood floor, no mirrors (for those who were wondering), lots of great natural light, and plenty of props. This studio has mats, blocks, blankets, bolsters, eye pillows - everything you might need for your yoga practice but might not want to haul around with you. I would recommend this studio to anyone in Savannah (though I wish I had more studios to compare it to here).

The only concern I would have is for those new to yoga: Neither teacher asked me about any injuries I might have had or if I had practiced yoga before. Taking the initiative and introducing yourself will open the opportunity for you to tell your teacher if you have any concerns, etc. That way you know they have you in mind when explaining poses, and can keep an eye on something you might be doing that could hurt you.

I might just be spoiled from having a plethora of different kinds of yoga studios to choose from in Cincinnati, OH, but I had a hard time loving Savannah Yoga Center. They had all the components of what a good yoga studio contains but the whole time I went there I felt like something was missing. It could be that the people working at the front desk seem to be more concerned about making money than making people love the studio.

The first day I came in, to try out the studio, the woman behind the desk couldn't figure out how to sign me up for the $35/ month intro deal and asked me if I would mind just paying for one class and paying the monthly deal later. Um NO. Really? One class was $15, which adds up. Or it could be that all of the teachers seem to have their own idea of what yoga means, and its more a building that houses different teachers with different definitions of what yoga is rather than one studio with one mission, I just don't feel like I get that mind/body/spirit connection that I used to get back home.

Another thing that I was taught in yoga is that everybody's bodies are different and you should never force someone into a pose. Especially with the more stressful poses like shoulder stand. This happened to me more than once with different teachers. It bothered me so much that once my introductory month was over, I did not want to renew my membership. Although, after a month of no yoga I may go back because its relatively near by and there are few options for yoga studios in Savannah.

If anyone is thinking of moving to a place to teach yoga, please come to Savannah! I miss the community of yoga and the friendships I formed. And that genuine connection I felt in class with my peers and teachers. There is this snobbery that seems to happen at SYC, and it can be intimidating for new people. I also really dislike the intense smell of sweat that happens when you walk into the lobby, and they choose to cover it up with the smell of Nag Champa incense.

It gets very stuffy. On the bright side SYC will give you a nice workout, and if your goal is to get thin and toned and fast, this is the place to do it. They also have mats available if you don't have one, as well as bolster pillows and other yoga props. It is also fun sometimes to use the eye pillows during shavasana they have available. AND! Its really close to the Sentient Bean and its fun to stop there after a workout for a coffee.
