Yoga - the totality of your practice is more important that the shape of your yoga postures. Community - creating opportunities for like minded people to come together, create lasting bonds, and grow as a collective whole. I started practicing yoga after the birth of my first child in 2006, I loved the way it helped me "reclaim" my body and gave me space to breathe. As my life continued to evolve by relocating to West Michigan and adding to our family; so has my practice. It is always with me, like the ever present light within.
Services
It was a bit tricky to find you on Google, I tried several combinations "near me", "district", "city" and few other, I didn't find your website on the first 3 pages and didn't find any contact to call. I mean Google businesses that are shown under the map, with contact details, reviews and call icon.
I came to your website from GRkids.org looking for more information about the community yoga classes. I was unable to find any additional information and hoping you might be able to let me know more about them.
These sessions are a great way to address your individual needs for better health, relaxation and stress management. If you are brand new to yoga, have a physical condition that needs special attention, or you would just like to develop a deeper personal yoga practice, private instruction is a convenient and affordable alternative to group classes.

I came here recently for a community class by a recent graduate of their yoga teaching course. The class was relaxing and easy to follow even for a beginner like me. This yoga studio is in East Grand Rapids where there is plentiful parking, either in Gaslight village shops, along the street or in the parking deck close by - and apparently they validate parking.

The studio is warm and inviting with large windows on two walls. The people there were welcoming and I do plan to continue attending their community classes and will likely come for other yoga classes.

Seva is such a great yoga studio! The teachers are amazing, and they all bring more to the class than just the stretching part of yoga. They get your mind in the right place and make you feel so much better when you leave. I can't say enough good things about Seva!

Seva Yoga offers a slow flow class which I appreciate. The class is challenging enough for me to feel that I am getting stronger without injuring myself. I love the Sunday morning slow flow with Stacy. Her personality is energetic and caring. She is aware of each student and their individual needs.

Seva is absolutely the place for zen, peace, and taking my yoga practice to the next level. The classes are lead by well trained and compassionate teachers and they offer a lot of variations so that classes are as challenging as you want them to be without the intimidation. LOVE Seva!

If you're looking for a truly mindful and nurturing practice, Seva is your studio. Not hot yoga, not classes that reminds you of a bootcamp workout class.nothing wrong with those, but that is not the approach at Seva. Modifications are offered, you are encouraged to come as you are, and find something helpful on your mat that you can carry out into your day.

The classes are as hard as you want them to be- the instructors encourage you to find your edge- but there is peace in that challenge as well. Also- free parking in the lot right next door. Bonus!

I visit my family in GR often, and this is the first time I checked out Seva. I found my home-away-from-home studio! What I liked the most is how the group in each class I went to had a beautiful focus on the breath; it felt like a connected experience, and I had a more valuable practice because of it. Also, everyone I met was super nice and welcoming to this out-of-towner! So thank you to the instructors and students for cultivating a beautiful practice and a warm and friendly environment.

My local Zen getaway Great location in EGR with free parking lot. I love the decor with the Sanskrit on the walls, ambient lighting and little accents here and there, feels like I'm in India haha Great amenities too, cushions, blankets, straps, yoga blocks all free to use. They also sell really cool yoga clothes and great gifts from local artisans and have fun events.

If you join their Facebook page you can get deals and discounts! Seva welcomes a diverse demographic and is not a "scene" like some yoga places, I have practiced with male, female, young, old, and sometimes they have had cats there, I was pregnant at the time and gave it a miss, but next time this crazy cat lady will go to one of those! Melissa, the owner, is an exceptional yogi, very warm and authentic in her practice which I don't find in many yoga places.

She also gives back alot in the community from free classes on the Blue Bridge during the summer to partnering with many local vendors. What a nice person and role model :. Although, I mainly go to her classes, she also has a great yogi team who teach at Seva. In summary, I love Seva Yoga, and I think you will too. Be sure to try in out. Namaste.

The energy of the room, like minded people, great teachers, fun music! Seva offers a variety of classes and I am able to choose what I need that day or that week. Sometimes I need more of a physical challenge, while other times I need to calm my mind and recenter myself. Whatever I am craving there is a class for that and I know Seva will deliver. Very consistent with the classes and descriptions.

Great experience. I love the community classes at random locations. I have a hot yoga membership, but I always go to these because they're fun and different. The teachers are very friendly and upbeat. They really want everyone to get as much out of each yoga class a small possible.

I cannot compliment Melissa, and Seva Yoga enough. I brought 50 high school football players to a camp at Grand Valley. I was able to get in touch with Melissa a couple of weeks prior, and schedule a private yoga session with these boys for a Monday morning session. Melissa was great to work with during all of the planning, and even better that day during the session.

She was energetic, yet not to the point of losing the peacefulness of a yoga session. She was the right amount of assertive and empathetic to the very sore teenage boys. I wouldn't doubt that some of these young men will seek out opportunities to practice yoga because of their experience with Melissa this morning. Thank you so much!

I enjoy the variety of classes, times and teaching styles. Every instructor that I have had has been excellent. I also really love the space and the special touches they have added recently of the warm towels, community outreach yoga events, Friday night yoga with music, etc. I am proud to call Seva my yoga home and each visit renews and re-energizes me.

Visiting from California, love this Gaslight Village yoga studio! I just did two Vinyasa classes here two days in a row (Sunday and Monday mornings). Both teachers were excellent -- Amy Rowland and Zoey VanDuren. They are highly knowledgeable, attentive and caring teachers, their sequences of poses were challenging yet healing for yogis of all levels and ages, and I left both classes feeling totally at peace, inspired and energized.

The space is open, clean and serene, the lighting and music are thoughtful and relaxing, and the shop in the front of the store has a curated selection of yoga clothes and other goodies -- picked up a few nice things yesterday including an awesome, comfy pair of yoga pants I wore today. I can't wait to come back to Seva again in a couple months during the winter holidays when I'm visiting family again. Planning to come practice yoga here daily when I'm back!

Came one night with a friend. I could barely hear the teacher she spoke so soft. Low energy teacher, not very hands on. She was young and looked nice, only doing one or two poses. Her words were not very insightful, although she tried. I came away feeling that she was very inexperienced. Have been to much much better. Will try another place. Perhaps she needs seasoning.

Wonderful yoga studio with kind, compassionate teachers! I've hit up other yoga studios in the area and while I won't name names, I realize that they weren't properly instructing me on poses or the risk of injury in doing poses incorrectly. It's Marro's slow-flow classes where I relearned the basics in poses and posture. Before Seva, Yoga was like an athletic and emotional challenge- how can contort myself into a crazy pose that the teacher is yelling out so I'm no embarrassed in front of my neighbor. Now, Seva - and especially Marro, - showed so much patience and kindness in training that I actually hit that Zen sweet spot and felt encouraged by the other people in the class.

The studio is located in EGR in the round-about area where the fountain is. It has a fun store are in the front with Patagonia, Lululemon and a few other brands for sale. The studio itself is lovely and serene. Classes are smaller and usually have a diverse group of ages and skill levels.
