Iyengar Yoga develops self-awareness through precision in movement appropriate for each individual's physical condition. This profound practice brings strength and suppleness to body, mind, and spirit. Iyengar, widely acknowledged as the world's foremost modern yoga teacher, caringly passed this tradition on to his Certified Iyengar Yoga teachers.
Tree House Iyengar Yoga has a tradition of donating a portion of their annual earnings to a local non-profit. This continues to demonstrate our commitment to our local community and embodies yogic principles. THIY teachers, owners, and students have provided their time and funds to these local non-profits for many years. We continue this tradition in 2021.
Whatever age you are, yoga can support you in your journey toward feeling well and becoming fit. Yoga is an ancient integrated discipline of mind, body, emotions, and spirit over 5000 years old. With experienced teachers as your guide and your mat as your foundation, you can experience peace of mind, increased health and awareness, and increased joy and flexibility in your movements. If you have a particular medical issue or injury, please let your teacher know about it at the beginning of class.
Because of the progressive nature of Iyengar Yoga, students with no previous experience in the system begin with Gentle or Level I classes. You learn the fundamentals of alignment and terminology for performance of poses at more advanced levels. You can repeat any level as often as you desire. We recommend discussing your needs with your teacher to help determine the level right for you and when to move to more advanced levels. Standard poses are adapted to deal with injuries or conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia.

I'm very happy that I found this yoga studio after a long search. When I moved here from California, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a good Iyengar yoga studio like I had. I really like Pat and George, and I've learned a lot from both of them. The camaraderie in the studio is a real treat, too!

I've been going to this studio for the past several months and really enjoy it. I was originally referred by my medical provider who described Iyengar Yoga as "alignment Yoga". I'm very tall, so my reason to start a regular Yoga practice was mainly about correcting my posture. I've noticed a much better awareness and improvement in my posture since I have been attending. I also really enjoy the group of people that go to this studio. There are a lot of regulars and everyone who comes is very friendly. Highly Recommended!

I've been taking classes at Tree House for about four years now. I really appreciate the level of knowledge (both of yoga and anatomy) the instructors have -- I have two permanent injuries that greatly affect my flexibility and which poses I need modifications for, and they are very careful and helpful. There is also none of that "competitive" vibe from the other students that I have experienced elsewhere. It's a very supportive and welcoming environment.

This is not a welcoming studio. I dropped in on a morning level I/II class and they didn't want me to stay because I didn't know their routine with blankets. (?) The instructor was incredulous when I couldn't describe the method I had practiced in the past. They advertise a first free session, but were going to charge me if I stayed because it's only for a certain class. I'm used to studios that are warm and welcoming to students of all levels. This is not that kind of studio.
