I love Two Dog! I have regularly attended classes with three different teachers and they all have such beautiful hearts, passion for yoga, and compassion for their students! Yoga has tremendously helped me stay fit and happy in my body after injuries in two car accidents. In addition to great yoga classes, Annie offers so many other interesting and varied workshops and events, as well as hugely giving back to the community at large. Drop in and give it a try!

Caring and respectfully guided classes with knowledgeable instructors in a beautiful studio. Almost daily offerings at different levels, including several beginner/gentle classes (check the schedule on the website). The owner is also an instructor and has a stellar reputation with decades of service to the community. Love it that the business was named for her pair of canine pets. Classes tend to include meditative time that is, again, respectful and welcoming to all.

I highly recommend Two Dog Yoga for many reasons. After trying probably dozens of yoga studios in the greater Seattle area, I have found my yoga home at Two Dog Yoga. First of all, the teachers teach for 1.5 hours. This is by design. They are able to start our class with a brief teaching that always makes me self-reflect before I take that self-reflection into my physical practice (after all, the definition of yoga is the yoke (connection) of body and mind).

And they have time for us to really do a proper savasana (rest) at the end. Second, the teachers have knowledge of the body - they all are able to explain why our body works the way it does and how we are all different from one another. They incorporate this into their classes by strongly inviting us to "not look perfect in the pose". The reason they are doing this is that yoga has caused injury for people who try to make themselves do exactly what the instructor does to their own body thinking wrongly that this is the way to Nirvana or some such thing.

These instructors are truly wise and know that we all are made differently and need to get to know our own body. Third, these teachers know that the secret to longevity is not huge bulky muscles, or that cute little pop of tricep muscle when you turn your arm inward. (You will, however, see this at other studios which I like to call Yoga-Robics where even in one instance, a teacher injured herself in one of her colleagues' classes.) These wise instructors at Two Dog Yoga know that strength and flexibility prepares the body for aging and for strengthening and lubricating the tissues to handle life's ups and downs.

I was even so prepared, that eventhough I hadn't gone skiing a single day last year (I don't recommend this - lol) when I got stranded with my Dad on a double black diamond, I carried his skis and mine, up the mountain so we could get over to the single black diamond instead of the double black that he mistakenly started heading down. I walked a good 20 minutes with all our equipment. Anyhoo, I was surprised by my own strength and proud that I could help my Dad out.

I was sore but I did it - I'm not gym strong - I'm LIFE strong thanks to Two Dog Yoga. Lol. Fourth, the Two Dog community is a community of very wise people. It's not a surprise because of the great teachers of Two Dog. I think that nearly everyone except a few people are older than me and yet in most yoga studios, most folks are younger than me. This shows how sustainable practicing at Two Dog Yoga is for all of us.

If you got to a yoga studio and everyone is young and strong - be wary. Ask yourself, how will I age here? Your answer will most likely be - this place is not sustainable and I will eventually get injured. Two Dog yoga is one of the most sustainable yoga studios I've ever experienced. I once had a substitute Teacher there who looked over 80! And most students are silver hairs.

It's amazing! These are wise people! All people are welcome here and it's a safe space. By the way, I don't give a lot of reviews. So if this one is clumsy, please forgive me. Two Dog means a LOT to me - and I wanted to really think this through. There's so much more to say that I can't put into words. I feel like a better person since practicing at Two Dog and certainly if you're looking to try out yoga or find a yoga home or something else, give Two Dog a try - you won't regret it and you might just even meet a greater, wiser you! The goodness in me honors and delights in the goodness in you (Namaste), Carol

Just started practicing at Two Dog but so far I've really enjoyed it. Staff is extremely welcoming and happy to work with you regardless of your skill/fitness level. Parking can be a little tricky to find but that's Seattle for ya.

I tried several yoga studios before finding Two Dog, where I felt welcomed and comfortable. Wendy and Annie are devoted yoga teachers and they go beyond the asanas by explaining the history and traditions of yoga. The other night Wendy talked about the Bhagavad Gita and talked us through an amazing class full of warrior poses and stories. I always leave yoga class feeling centered, warm, whole, and relaxed. Annie has created a safe place for anyone in the community to come in and feel safe practicing yoga at any ability level. I joined them on the Yelapa retreat this past January and it was a transformative experience.

Not sure why a past reviewer mentioned negative things about the cleanliness of this yoga studio? I wonder how do they keep this studio so tidy as Two Dog Yoga is a busy place due to its popularity. Having attended classes here for about five years now, I am always impressed that the bathrooms are very clean and the Yoga studio itself is quite a welcoming and delightful space.

I lay on the beautiful and sparkling wooden floors twice a week and have never even seen one dust ball! The owner is a very caring person who has truly not only created a very respected 27-year old business in the Lake City area, but she is involved in creating strong community through things like supporting the homeless and now a free teen class, too! Yes, the rug when you enter the studio has gotten some wear throughout the years as this is where we all tromp in with our wet shoes, so that is expected, but I hear there is a new rug coming soon.

I hope this now pleases those that don't really understand what this studio is fully about and can be open to the real jewels here as it goes way beyond just yoga poses. But every yoga instructor I have experienced here just rocks as they are more interested in you and what you get out of the class rather than their own yoga practice. A very giving, clean and bright studio for sure!

I would really like to see this place get a good cleaning and revamp. The location is good and close to me and I'd like to come back. But despite my desire to want to make it work and make this my place, the studio is musty, the carpets are old and dirty.

Having "tried" Yoga at a gym, my husband and I were very nervous about the whole process. We had come away from gym Yoga convinced we were not able to do Yoga and not able to "fit in" for sure. I reached out to Two Dog Yoga because I had shoulder surgery and everyone I was working with said, try Yoga, it will really help you. I got lucky, because Two Dog Yoga is very near my home and they are the first studio we "tried".

Of course with the memory of the gym Yoga, I was super hesitant. My husband and I just finished our 5 week Intro to Yoga class! Not only that, we are going to continued doing Yoga with Two Dog Yoga! They helped us see that no matter your body shape, size or condition, Yoga CAN be for everyone. Annie worked with everyone in class to help them find what would work for them "personally".

This was no cute little hip hop instructor jumping from pose to pose, but someone who truly cared about what she was doing and who she worked with. She really knows and understands the human body at a level that was clearly a cut above. I was also worried about my shoulder, in the first class it "screamed at me" telling me I don't like this! Annie was very conscious of this and helped me fit my poses into something that would help strengthen me and restore me, without killing me!

By the final class of 5 I am starting to feel a difference in my shoulder. I know it will be slow, but at least I am finally moving in the right direction thanks to her help and compassion! So very glad I gave it another shot, both my husband and I are grateful for her graceful introduction into Yoga the way it should be for us!

I love this place. The best decision I've made in years was to drop in one Tuesday morning five months ago. The studio and teachers are warm and inviting.

What an adorable yoga studio! I went for a drop in class and it was great. They have everything you need - mats, straps, blocks, bolster pillows, blankets. I love that they make it easy for you to come here, so no excuses! They seem to have a lovely community involved in many areas of the yoga practice, as well as guest speakers and travel experiences you can sign up for. The instructors are so kind and genuinely welcoming, I just wish I had tried it out sooner!

I had attended other yoga classes for years before I discovered Two Dog Yoga so can attest that these classes are different than many. For one thing, the instructors spend most of the class time making sure you are in correct position and getting the most out of your pose and are comfortable, instead of doing the yoga with you in the front of the room and just occasionally come by, so you really feel cared about and are getting the best benefits possible. Second, the environment is uplifting yet calm and very clean. Third, each instructor I have experienced has a different approach, but yet there is a consistent quality throughout.

What works great for one person, doesn't always work as best for another, so try out different classes and instructors. I have found a great relationship with Wendy, but sometimes I drop by other classes too depending on my schedule, and have enjoyed them all. This is a gem of a place with prices that are fair especially for the quality of instruction.

Two Dog is a great yoga studio. All of the teachers are incredibly talented, patient, and knowledgable. Many yoga studios can be intimidating to beginners, but Two Dog is not. They are very welcoming and there are a lot of normal people with normal bodies there. Annie's Intro class is very useful if you would like to take things slow and focus on a deep learning of a new practice.

It provides a wonderful foundation to other classes. You can also just as easily drop into a Level I class if you feel like you have the background. The studio uses a lot of props (blocks, blankets, bolsters, straps, etc), which is something that many studios I've been to don't use as much, and I really like the option. Of course, everything is up to you, and you can use as many or as few props as you want. It's a wonderful studio and I highly recommend it.

What a joy to arrive in a new neighborhood and find there's a beautiful yoga community here with invigorating, nourishing yoga classes plus excellent special events in Ayurveda and couples massage. We're so lucky. Thank you, Two Dog Yoga! Viva Lake City!

I recently completed Two Dog Yoga's Intro to Yoga series and I have to say that I am really thankful that this studio is just a few blocks away from my house. Annie is a fantastic instructor. I loved that she could explain concepts in a way that was easy to grasp and offered individual instruction and support as needed. I appreciated all of the props that were provided, and that modifications and challenges were offered.

I also love that she works with and reminds us of our connection to nature throughout the class. I would highly recommend this series to beginners and I am very much looking forward to going back for other classes.

A fellow yelper told me about a free yoga week to check out the studio, so check out I did. Loved that they had free street parking. The studio was very large and accomodated a very full class well. Also enjoyed that they had two bathrooms, I get kind of annoyed at the ones that only have 1, or a seperate male/female bathrooms. Like most studios they had props available.

Class I took was taught by Wendy who provided good instruction. Apparently they do the free week of yoga twice a year so good to know if you are not sure if yoga is right for you, or are not sure which teacher you would work best with.

I recently signed up for a series with Wendy and I'm loving it. She's a great teacher- very thoughtful, down to earth and seems to really live her yoga. The studio itself beautiful and comfortable- the lotus mural on the wall is lovely. I'm really glad that the Lake City area has such a great yoga studio and I'm just wondering why it took me so long to try it out. I give only 4 stars because I have yet to try classes from other teachers, but I'm sure they are fantastic as well.

I wish they would open a studio next door to me I don't get there very often - my loss (Though you know I go to an outstanding studio- hauteyoga). So much yoga to do - not enough time. You need to stop by their studio. I do also.

Two Dog has a wonderful staff of gifted teachers. Annie, the studio owner is a great yoga teacher. She is very skilled at presenting the concepts in a clear, grounded way, an the personal adjustments she gives reinforce her instruction. The studio is open and spacious, and classe are small enough so everyone gets personal attention. Highly recommend to anyone seeking yoga class.

After a busy holiday season and a few months of non-practice, it was a pleasure to come to Two Dog Yoga. The space is serene with exposed pipes, black ceiling, wood floor, and an energizing red wall at the front. The wall is covered with a huge lotus (sorry, didn't bring my camera and the website didn't have a pic). I was here for a workshop- the Practicing Deeply: Yin, Vinyasa and Meditation with Shannon McCall.

It was a 3 hour tour. The first part of the class was yin yoga, which I've never done before. Yin yoga is far from the popular vinyasa or flow yoga, where you go through several postures after holding the pose for a few breaths. With yin yoga you hold the pose for a good 5 minutes, allowing you to sink into a mini-meditation. Then Shannon led us through sun salutations and finished with a seated meditation.

She was calm and soothing, providing a number of variations so you could tailor it to your level. She also instructed us through a two segments of cleansing breaths (her abs are fierce and frightening!). I got lost at the handstand portion and declined individual attention from her. If I lived closer to Two Dog Yoga, I'd certainly be a regular in her class.

She made sure that you were doing the poses correctly and walked around frequently, unlike some instructors that just want to show off their flexibility. The others in the class were also very chill. It was supportive that people were focused on their own practice, as opposed to trying to compete with one another. Two Dog Yoga also provides all the yoga props that you'd need- blocks, belts, and bolsters.
