When we are struggling with chronic health problems, so often it is a sign that we need to look deeper into our lives and make a higher commitment to creating the life that we really want. Rather than just putting a band-aid on our symptoms to make us feel a little better, we need to make some fundamental changes that will enable healing to take place at a core level. This often means changing the way that we perceive the world as much as it does changing our diet, exercise habits, etc.
Chinese medicine is an ancient healthcare system that can gently guide you to a more vital, meaningful, and enjoyable life. At Valley Acupuncture Health Solutions, we pride ourselves on using acupuncture and Chinese herbs to not only improve your current health symptoms, but to also educate you about how you can live the fullest, most beneficial life that you can in order to keep yourself thriving for as long as you live.
In this sense, we pick up where Western medicine so often leaves off. We take the time to help you heal yourself on all levels of being, not just give you some temporary relief so you feel a little better. That is the power of Chinese medicine and the purpose behind Valley Acupuncture Health Solutions.
Chinese Medicine is based on the knowledge that the human body has an enormous capacity for self-healing. At Valley Acupuncture Health Solutions we are dedicated to nurturing that ability within every individual patient. We have successfully treated hundreds of patients for disorders ranging from:
■ Chronic pain
■ Headaches and migraines
■ Gastrointestinal difficulties
■ Menstrual disorders ( from painful periods to menopause )
■ Depression and Anxiety
■ And much more!

We use acupuncture and other forms of Oriental medicine, including Chinese herbs and moxibustion (a localized heat treatment) . This form of treatment has been proven effective for many, many conditions, from asthma to women’s (gynecological) issues. All treatment begins with a proper diagnosis, which takes place during your first visit. We spend a lot of time getting a complete picture of your health and lifestyle. We examine the condition of your tongue (is it cracked, coated, excessively pink? etc.) , and check your pulse on both wrists (the quality of your pulse gives information about possible imbalances) . We’ll also ask questions about your emotional state, and specific symptoms you may have.
Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional Medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, Functional Medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
Dr Jim helped me with a virus I had and he used natural methods to clear it out of my system!! I am forever grateful and would recommend his practice to anyone seeking relief from ANYTHING! I intend to see him a few times a year to make sure my body is still strong and healthy! THANK YOU JIM!!!
Jim Pederson is very dedicated to his work and very knowledgeable. He has provided pain relief for my arthritis using acupuncture. He has also taught me healthful guidelines to maintain being pain free on my own.
Thank you Jim!!
Valley Acupuncture is fantastic! I have been trying to solve a wide spread pain issue for 5 years through western medicine. I have seen many specialists, and been through PT numerous time with mild results that didn’t last. After going to Vally Accupuncture, the pain has resolved, and I have my energy back. I even started dancing again! I though those days were long gone. Jim is easy to talk to, always friendly, and he takes the time to explain thing so that I really understand. He is highly skilled at his craft and I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.
These treatments have helped address my situation effectively without need to risk adverse side effects of drug-based therapy.
I can't say enough good things about Jim and Valley Acupuncture. I suffered from a 6 month headache due to a dental procedure when I first came to see him. This was after seeing many md's including a neurologist at Rush in Chicago. All they wanted to do was push drugs on me. The last thing I needed or wanted. Jim showed so much care and confidence. Although it took some time, because I waited so long to see him, he has really helped me to have relief. The mixture of herbs and the acupuncture have given me a new lease on life. Recently I had to finish the dental work I started the year previously. The headaches did come back but with Jim's help, they have been so much better. I recommend him to anyone and everyone I can. If you need pain relief, please give him a call. You will not regret it.

Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive medical system to diagnose and help millions of people get well and stay healthy. This activates the body's Qi and promotes natural healing by enhancing recuperative power, immunity and physical and emotional health.
Massage is a wonderful form of deeply centering touch that provides an energy balancing experience. It is grounded in healing philosophies and methods that have been practiced for thousands of years. Health practitioners developed techniques based on the premise that good health depends on a balanced flow of vitality in the body, in particular, the energy that flows through a system of channels called meridians. Massage evolved in this tradition to integrate a variety of techniques including pressure, stretching and exercise.
Through acupuncture, natural supplements and dietary recommendations provided by Dr. James Pedersen, my rheumatoid arthritis has been in remission for nine months. Prior to seeing Dr. Pedersen, I was having significantly painful knee flare ups every three months. Now I am not on any RA medications and I feel great. I started seeing Jim Pedersen back in March after my first miscarriage. At every appointment, Mr. Pedersen took the time to listen to me and find out the best way to help my body prepare for a healthy pregnancy.
What is AcuGraph? The AcuGraph Digital Meridian Imaging system is a computerized tool used to analyze and document the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. We will use the system in a short examination by touching a moistened probe to acupuncture points on your hands and feet. 2. What are Acupuncture Meridians? Acupuncture meridians are energy pathways in your body that have been used therapeutically for over 5000 years. These meridians conduct life-force energy, or Qi (pronounced "chee") in and around all the parts of your body.
