Yoga Warehouse The Yoga Warehouse, founded in 1998, maintains a tradition of Sivananda Yoga in Fort Lauderdale that started in 1969. Our mission is to propagate the authentic teachings and practices of Yoga for the physical, mental and spiritual upliftment of ourselves, our community and all beings. Guided and silent meditation followed by kirtan and an easy-to-follow reading and/or talk.

After closely observing the lifestyles and needs of people in the West, Swami Vishnudevananda, the founder of Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, noted that the ancient wisdom of Yoga can be synthesized into five basic principles, which can be easily incorporated into our own lifestyles to provide the foundation for healthy living.
Services
The Yoga Warehouse, founded in 1998, is an Affiliated Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, and maintains a tradition of Sivananda Yoga in Fort Lauderdale that started in 1969. During the pandemic of 2020 we moved out of our Flagler Avenue location are now operating as a Yoga center without walls. We teach classical Hatha Yoga, a traditional technique brought to the West by Swami Vishnudevananda in the 1950s.
The Divine Life Society, established by Swami Sivananda in 1936, carries out its object of a worldwide revival of spirituality through publication of books, pamphlets and magazines dealing scientifically with all the aspects of Yoga and Vedanta, universal religion and philosophy, and ancient medicine.
If there is no cancelation posted here, we will be at the park feel free to text us at 954.525.7726. In addition to cash, we now accept class donations through Venmo (user name @ywyogis or search for "Yoga Warehouse" - you will find the Om symbol), in addition to credit or debit cards. We practice Classical Hatha Yoga in the Sivananda tradition, with pranayama (breathing exercises), asanas (yoga postures) and relaxation.
The Gajananam follows nearly the same sequence as the Jaya Ganesha, which we chant at Satsang. First, we invoke Ganesha to remove all obstacles, then Subramanya to give us strength and destroy all negative forces, inside and outside. Next is Saraswati to give us Divine knowledge. Then we ask the teacher (Guru) to guide us always.

These yogi's are effective and intuitive, providing a traditional, simplistic hatha yoga experience. Their lineage falls from your yet-to-be met "cosmic friend", Swami Sivananda. Go. Heal. Let yourself be gifted.

I got invited by a good friend of mine to come try it out since I do need it. I enjoyed the experience and it was a full class. The teacher was very nice and not too pushy which was my main concern.

The Yoga Warehouse and the experienced, attentive teachers are the real deal! Classical Hatha Yoga, within an ancient unbroken lineage. No "western gimmicks". The teachings are very, very pure, and are taught in the same way as they have been throughout the ages. As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY way to practice Yoga. Truly life transforming!

I LOVE Yoga Warehouse! It's space and teachers are truly the best for my head and my body. I never feel like I'm being pushed too hard, but often feel the gentle nudge of light hands helping me breathe deeper into a pose at just the right time. After years of "trying" different types of yoga, it's through this Sivananda practice that I've learned to quiet myself with yogic breathing. Yoga Warehouse is by far my favorite place to get my yoga on! #yogastoned

I had to return to South Florida under unfortunate circumstances recently. Attending class at Yoga Warehouse was a welcome refuge during a difficult time. The class was peaceful and balanced. It was exactly what I needed. Most of all, I was so grateful that despite the changes to the area where the warehouse is located, the space and the tradition inside remain inspired and authentic. Thank you Yoga Warehouse for staying true to your yoga roots and taking me in during my time of need.

Fort Lauderdale Yogis - this is a gem you may not even realize is in your possession. They are a one-of-a-kind business. I feel weird even calling them "business" because it is so much more than that! They provide a personal and rewarding experience. The classes I've been to are an hour and a half, but it doesn't feel like it. They start slow, become engaging and intense, and then relax back out.

I have never experienced such a combination of both full body relaxation and work-out. They are all very knowledgable and I learn a lot in the classes. I am relatively new to Yoga, so it can be intimidating in other classes, but here it is comfortable. It feels the way Yoga should be experienced and practiced. I always leave feeling uplifted and healthier - both in mind and body.

This is the place for yoga. Real, authentic yoga. I have been coming here 18 of their 20 years and I can attest it is consistent and true to the teachings. If you're looking for aerobics or cross fit disguised as yoga, this isn't the place. If you're looking for inner peace and the opportunity to practice asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), meditation and satsang, check out their classes, workshops and events. Everyone is welcome here. For me, entering The Yoga Warehouse is like coming "om".

I have taken two classes so far and I am very happy with my practice there. The instruction on yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation is first rate -- world class even! It is a very serene, supportive environment for beginners, and they offer more challenging classes, too. There is even a free Satsang practice Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM. I definitely would recommend to anyone to try this place. It is a refreshing change of place from the cookie cutter yoga studios everywhere.

It appears that some of the negative reviewers on here have confused this mom-and-pop yoga center for a major online retailer. This is unfortunate because Yoga Warehouse, located in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, is a business that deserves no less than 5 stars! Yoga Warehouse is an incredible place to start, maintain or advance your yoga training. Shyam and Mohini, the directors of this Sivananda yoga center are caring, patient and kind proprietors who treat patrons with respect and encouragement.

They have organized a wonderful group of teachers who teach traditional hatha yoga. Shyam and Mohini have done a spectacular job of cultivating a peaceful oasis for yogis to grow and learn, while they "Om" along with the purr of the railroad tracks. I would highly recommend anyone interested in yoga to check out a class, attend a free meditation or enjoy one of the many other programs they provide, i.e. concerts, Indian cooking classes, etc. You will not be disappointed!

Yoga Warehouse has been my regular yoga center for the past five years since moving to Fort Lauderdale. The space where yoga is practiced is very special and keeps you wanting to return (not typical for me). Shyam and Mohini are wonderful both as directors of this Sivananda yoga center and teachers. In fact, all the teachers are well trained in this traditional hatha yoga practice and shed a different light on your yoga practice.

Everyone from beginners to advanced are welcome and if you are just dropping in to practice one time or if you go regularly, you will not be disappointed. You can even borrow a clean yoga mat for free and there is a wonderful gift shop with all types of interesting products for sale. If you want a wonderful yoga experience, give Yoga Warehouse a try.

I attended classes here for a few years while living in Fort Lauderdale, I am still searching for a place that can hold a candle to the calming environment, exceptional teachers, and overall stellar experience 100% of the time that both I and my friends had here. I live in LA now and Yoga is everywhere - all I want is to find a place like this, it left that much of an impression on me.

This rich stretching hatha Yoga technique is found at Yoga Warehouse of Downtown Fort Lauderdale which is an affiliate of Sivananda! Yeah home away from home! Just think how wonderful those handstands will look in the ocean : Don't forget to ask about their yoga and snorkel outings.
