Karen E. Sept, DO I went to medical school at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. While at the College, I did a teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine under the guidance of Viola Frymann, D.O. I have done an internship in general medicine at Lansing General Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. I obtained further training through an internship in Pediatrics at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I worked for four years with the Indian Health Service in Alaska and Minnesota. This gave me a great deal of experience in general medicine and in applying osteopathic principles to treating people with a variety of common and serious illnesses.

What I Do
Report
I practice a type of medicine that was started by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in the last part of the 1800's. He believed that the body, mind, and spirit were inseparable. He taught that your body could repair itself and the the ideal state was one in which your body could move freely. From time to time, you suffer an injury or develop habits of moving that keep your body from healing itself.
What to Expect
Report
A first visit normally takes an hour and a half to two hours. It generally includes a complete history and structural examination. I will develop a treatment plan and discuss it with you. If you approve of the plan then the treatment is started at this visit. Subsequent visits usually take forty five to sixty minutes and continue with the treatment plan with alterations as needed.
