Educational Programs for Childhood Development
Shen Men was founded by Conradine Sanborn, a licensed Acupuncturist and educator with over 20 years of experience in holistic therapies and Waldorf education. Our programs are rooted in Rudolf Steiner's principles, focusing on nurturing children's foundational capacities through movement, art, and sensory integration. We collaborate closely with the Minnesota Waldorf School to develop individualized programs addressing learning, behavioral, and socialization challenges. Our team combines expertise in Extra Lesson, Reflex Integration, and anthroposophical therapies to support children's resilience and ease in learning. With decades of combined experience in education and complementary medicine, we prioritize relationship-centered care and evidence-based methodologies.

Our programs emphasize sensory development, motor skills, and emotional well-being, tailored to each child's unique needs. We maintain transparency in our approach, offering financial assistance and clear communication with families. Our commitment to continuous professional development ensures our methods align with the latest research in child development. By integrating therapeutic practices with educational support, we aim to create lasting positive impacts on children's lives. Our track record of collaboration with educators, parents, and medical professionals underscores our dedication to holistic child development.

Services
Foundational Fun Summer
This six-week summer program enhances children's physical comfort and learning readiness through Waldorf-inspired activities. We use Extra Lesson, Spatial Dynamics, and Reflex Integration exercises to develop motor skills and social abilities. Daily outdoor adventures and horseback riding sessions at River Valley Riders complement artistic and movement-based learning.
After School Program
Weekly after-school sessions for fourth graders focus on touch, balance, and movement development through horseback riding, rock climbing, and cross-country skiing. Activities build self-confidence, fear mastery, and social connections while aligning with Waldorf educational principles. Cranial sacral therapy and Extra Lesson sessions provide additional sensory integration support.
First Grade Support
Daily individualized support for first graders combines anthroposophical medicine with Waldorf education principles. Therapies include Chirophonetics, Colorpuncture, and Reflex Integration to address developmental needs. Monthly parent support sessions and collaboration with teachers ensure comprehensive care for each child's educational journey.
Reflex Integration
Based on Svetlana Masgutova's methods, this therapy enhances sensory integration and neurostructural development. It addresses learning and movement challenges through reflex pattern correction, improving concentration, motor skills, and cognitive functions while supporting overall brain development in children.
Rhythmical Massage
This gentle, structured massage technique supports physiological balance through archetypal movement patterns. It enhances body awareness, sensory integration, and emotional regulation while providing therapeutic benefits for children's physical and neurological development through rhythmic, enlivening touch.
